The repertoire

The artists mainly play compositions from Kelly Joyces albums, ("vivre la vie ", "chocolat" etc),  and from the repertoire of the K.S.K. (original songs, tangos, jazz standards jazz, etc. ), that recall the atmosphere in Paris at the beginning of the last century, where there were various clubs known as " Les Folies Bergre ". They also take their inspiration from ethnic music, with the warm and passionate sound of the Fado and Bossanova, and they arrange all their own music. Let their sound take you back to the multi-ethnic Parisian bistrots, and relive the everlasting French melodies of singers such as Edith Piaf.

Kelly Joyce

The story of Kelly Joyce almost seems to belong to an old-fashioned novel... one of those family epics that would work well as an epic-drama.

First of all, we should point out that Kelly is not some novelist's invention, but a young artist born in Paris in 1982, with a blue blood line traced in her family (her father King Joe Bale is the son of the former prince of the Bantù empire, while her mother, Countess Emanuelle Vidal De Fonseca, prides herself to have among her ancestors the first President of the Brazilian Republic). But, apart from the blazon, art runs in Kelly's family with her father, an accomplished composer and her mother - the true star in the family - is remembered as being the founder and singer of the Chocolats. Not to mention her great-grandmother Solange De Fonseca, a fashion designer for the legendary Coco Chanel.

With such a family background it is hardly surprising that the beautiful and enterprising Kelly has been an artist since childhood: she studied the violin in London for 8 years, piano for 5 years, and dance at the Royal Academy for 12 years. She has a bright future ahead of her as a singer, dancer, and composer. It seems that the word art is written in the chromosomes of her genetic patrimony and she has a special attitude towards performing. With her first single "VIVRE LA VIE", she joins the top of the charts in Italy, France and Belgium. The follow up "AVEC L'AMOUR" is destined to the same glory. In April 2001 her first album "KELLY JOYCE" was finally released, a work that shows the creative talent of this young performer, destined to become a hit also in other European countries. In the same year she met the record producer Rolando D'Angeli (producer of Italian artists such as Nek, Giorgia and Umberto Tozzi) who owns the independent record label Don't Worry Records. Together they established a profitable artistic collaboration and set up a collaboration with Gian Maria Flores and Lorenzo Sebastiani.

In 2002 she started touring all over Italy and Europe. Open to different ideas, she performs in many jazz concerts as well, and participates as a vocalist at the famous "Festival dei Due Mondi" in Spoleto, with artists such as Massimo Moriconi e Roberto Ciotti. In summer 2003 she released her new single produced by Rolando D'Angeli "Little Kaige" which received widespread critical acclaim.

On 13th December 2003, she took part in the 11th edition of the traditional "Christmas Vatican Concert" at Aula of Paolo VI in the Vatican. In June 2004 Kelly Joyce released her new album "Chocolat", in which she wrote some of the lyrics, some of which are semi-autobiographical. This album includes the beautiful song "Cest l'amour qui vient", supported by a video clip aired on main TV programmes. In autumn 2004 she released the single "Melody", broadcast by the most important national TV networks in Italy and meanwhile she continued touring all over world. Currently, she is promoting her new single, "Cos' che vuoi da me" ("What Is It you want from me?) performed with Dj Fish and Esa with an intriguing video-clip broadcast on video music channels.

"KELLY JOYCE" is a refined pop record, rich in scents, dense in inspirations and with extensive music references, from the immortal pop of Burt Bacharach to tango, from the Caribbean rhythms to the fascinating retro music of the Folie Bergre. And considering that Kelly Joyce is only 23 years old, a truly thrilling future can be imagined for her.

She has performed with the KUASAR STRING KUARTET since 2006.

Kuasar String Kuartet

The first time the members of KUASAR met was in 2004. Even though the members of this string quartet came from different musical backgrounds, they had the same way of feeling and interpreting music, and they immediately struck a chord, which marked the beginning of their musical journey.  The KUASAR sound is an innovative and intricate blend of different music styles, spanning the 1900s to contemporary music; from Jazz, Ethnic, to Pop music.  Their wide repertory, which includes original compositions, is captivating and engaging. Even though they have only recently stepped onto the international music scene, the K.S.K. has already been invited to play at numerous important Jazz Festivals, and each band members regularly collaborate with well-known International Artists such as: TRILOK GURTU, JOSE CURA, ANTONELLA RUGGIERO, ROBERTO GATTO, PAOLO FRESU, STEFANO BATTAGLIA, GABRIELE MIRABASSI among others...Currently they are also working on a new project called "PLANCTON" with Gianni Pirollo, featuring the French Singer KELLY-JOYCE. KUASAR are constantly looking to create new sounds, innovative writing styles, and work both electronically and acoustically.
